TriStar Electric

Picture
Honesty, Quality and Affordability are the three pillars upon which TriStar Electric stands. With a history of over 15 years as an electrician, Dustin Henrie- the owner of TriStar Electric has figured out how to run a successful Electrical company by providing unmatched service to the residents of the Wasatch Front. A native of West Jordan, Dustin cut his teeth working with his father at Henries Electric after high-school back in 2002.
TriStar Electric specializes in residential and commercial electrical work. Dustin is a fully licensed electrician and his teams’ work has been impressing customers from Provo to Ogden, and Park City all the way out to Tooele for the past 3 years.

Some of the most common jobs that Dustin and his crew get are: service upgrades, service calls, panel change outs, remodels, new construction, troubleshooting, generators, basement finishes, hot tub hookups, commercial remodels, security system installs… the list goes on. Speaking of lists, you should check out the long list of happy customers on their Facebook page. 18 of Dustin’s customers rated him 5/5 stars.

“I think the key to good customer service is being honest, dependable, affordable, being on time and responsive. Our main focus is making sure the customer is happy- that’s why I’m always on site to supervise, and we wont leave until the job is done right. “
Being that TriStar doesn’t have a website, I asked Dustin how he’s bringing in customers, and he said that Facebook is the primary means but a close second is word-of-mouth advertising. “A lot of our customers are referrals and repeat customers.” He said. “The repeat customers are great, and they know what kind of service they’ll be getting.”

One of the problems TriStar has faced is hiring quality electricians. “I’d like to expand, and hire one or two more guys with experience- out of a technical school. In fact, I’d like to offer schooling as an incentive to hire the right people.” He said.

I asked about the stress of balancing a successful business and a family. “That’s the toughest part- running a business and raising a family. “ He said. “I’d like to have enough business and employees to be able to pick and choose which jobs to take.” Surely, that will ease the stress.  However, it sounds like he has figured out the recipe for success because when I asked him what, if anything he would do differently from the beginning, after thinking about it for a while, he couldn’t answer. That’s impressive, because in the time that he’s been in business, surely not everything went 100% correct, 100% of the time. All small businesses experience pitfalls, and setbacks but it seems Dustin realizes that even the difficult times were necessary to grow- and the recent workload proves that his business is growing. “Usually, everything slows down in the winter months and picks back up in March, but we’ve been pretty steady for the past two years straight.”

I’m sure there are other great electricians up and down the Wasatch Front, but Dustin and TriStar Electric will certainly have my business. Go check out the reviews on his Facebook page and let that help you determine who to call the next time your hot tub needs re-wiring.
